Wow, I wasn't expecting a response from you! But I do know who you are...
1. I liked that one initially, and it's been his default, now I'm not quite as happy with it.
2. Heh, that's from the pic of him with Hips.
3. I mostly use that one for OOC, but yeah, it's very different. It's supposed to be an illustration of the Schrodinger's cat experiment.
4. Whoa. It's photo! Lei. That's creepy.
5. You know, I've been trying to draw him eating pizza and haven't come out with anything I liked yet. Come on, look at the guy. Does he look like he doesn't eat?

Hee. I read D_M friends a lot - and I've seen Dirk around and I like answering questions, soooo.

Cosplay-Lei Lei is reaaally cool. I have big pics of her that will show up on D_M pretty soon. MAHS!Lei is going to a convention this weekend, and will have photos for when she comes back. Plottage, woo! :D

And yes - Dirk looks like a man who looooves his food. :D I think loving your food is a good thing - just don't love your food!

I really need to post him more often. Working on a sort of plot thingy, plus I need some Nexus LOL to turn him into a cat sometime. No, really.

Is that you, or somebody else who cosplayed as her, or an edited photo? I wanna say edited photo but at this resolution it's hard to tell. Also I totally need to get somebody in MAHS. I'm feeling left out, but I also shudder at the idea of reliving HS.

I think talking is definitely Dirk's first love in life, but eating comes in at a solid second. All we ever see him eat in the books is pizza. He doesn't seem to be food obsessed or even worry about getting regular meals, it's just when he does he's apparently capable of eating a whole pizza in one sitting.

Brown, not orange, but yeah. Cats and Dirk have a longstanding connection, so I started drawing a Dirkitty, and now I basically need an excuse to use it.

It's incredible. I've always liked costumes, but the ones I've made more recently involve full head-covering masks. I really need to upload pics of those to DevArt.

4. They are, and he's thrilled, but it's still a little wierd to him. Now if Hips would run up and hug him the way Mel does he'd be thrilled, because, well, cleavage. Plus she's closer to his age.
I don't count as a fangirl because I don't do the squealy girly thing, right? I'm an angry dyke. Grrr.

4. Heee. Mel will want to pet him and hug him when he's a kitty. And Mel has... tiny boobs. Which will probably get bigger, because EVERYBODY in my/her family that's female has huge honkers. She also works for Hellsing, which is an anime/manga, and all the girls gots hooters, too.

Also, you can be one, even if you don't squee.

2. Yeah, I have way too many thoughts about stuff to do when he's a cat. How sad is that, when I've barely played him as he is.
4. Well Mel is jailbait age, so he doesn't think of her that way. And...ergh. Yeah. Dirk would probably find my boobage pretty sad. Curse you and your boobage genes. Anime girls are also anorexic, which gets obnoxious. I've only seen the first couple eps of Hellsing.

I've really never considered myself one, partly because as near as I can tell, the fangirling involves wanting your Mary Sue to be with the character. I don't mean that in a judgemental way, I came into the world of online-dom by way of fanfic writers, and I have seen some damn good Mary Sues that really don't deeserve that title. My interest always lies directly in playing the character. Mebbe I'm just too butch for my own good or something. Or maybe I misunderstand fangirl motives.

I feel like this whole last batch of icons lost a lot when they got sized down. The originals were drawn bigger, so the linework shrunk too much along with the rest of the pictures.
But, yanno, I'm picky about my own art.

4. The boobs aren't fun, man. If you ever get hit in the chest, it HURTS and if you go on a bumpy road and your bra doesn't fit right they bounce, which hurts, too.

One of the things I like about Hellsing is that the girls are pretty without being anorexic. Seras has meat on her bones without being fat, and Integra is badass.

As for the fangirly stuff- well, that's a good bit of it, but not all. Mostly it involves glomping, and squeeing. And there's nothing wrong with being a butch.
